Tennessee State Parks Camping Sees Record Occupancy in October, New November High

In October, the parks saw 62,124 nights of camping. That number is a record high for camping stays. The previous record of 57,472 nights was set in June 2020. November saw more than 36,000 camping nights sold. The previous record for November was 15,000 in 2019.

“The impact of COVID-19 simply underscores a growing awareness that the outdoors are a sanctuary for mental and physical health,” Jim Bryson, deputy commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, said. “The appeal of louder, busier, and crowded entertainment venues has given way to the space, freedom and connection the outdoors provide.”

The pandemic has increased outdoor recreation leading to record numbers.

January 2021 Options Now Available For Camping World Holdings (CWH)

Investors in Camping World Holdings Inc (Symbol: CWH) saw new options begin trading today, for the January 2021 expiration. At Stock Options Channel, our YieldBoost formula has looked up and down the CWH options chain for the new January 2021 contracts and identified one put and one call contract of particular interest.

The put contract at the $30.00 strike price has a current bid of $2.70. If an investor was to sell-to-open that put contract, they are committing to purchase the stock at $30.00, but will also collect the premium, putting the cost basis of the shares at $27.30 (before broker commissions). To an investor already interested in purchasing shares of CWH, that could represent an attractive alternative to paying $30.45/share today.

Because the $30.00 strike represents an approximate 1% discount to the current trading price of the stock (in other words it is out-of-the-money by that percentage), there

Make your Memorial Day weekend camping reservations now

LANSING, MICH. — Seasoned campers know the drill: When early December rolls around, it’s time to start thinking about summer.

Campsite reservations at Michigan state parks and recreation areas can be made up to six months in advance — meaning now is the time to secure a camping spot for Memorial Day weekend 2021.

Officials from the Department of Natural Resources expect that the 2021 camping season may be on par with this year’s record-setting visitor numbers, so their message to campers is to plan ahead.

“Given how extremely busy we were this year, despite the pandemic, I would definitely recommend that people make reservations ahead of time,” said Jeremy Spell, central reservations system analyst for the DNR’s Parks and Recreation Division.

Michigan has more than 100 state parks, but campgrounds at the most popular parks tend to fill up quickly for summer holidays like Memorial Day and Independence Day.
